Joint modeling of whole-genome sequencing data for human height via approximate message passing
JournalCell Genomics 6(5), 101162
We develop gVAMP, an approximate message passing paradigm that fine-maps whole-genome sequence variants and gene burden scores conditional on all other measured DNA variation genome-wide, and show that the genetic architecture of height inferred from WGS data differs systematically from the one inferred from imputed SNPs.

Joint Variable Selection in Proteomics Survival Models
WorkshopICLR Workshop on Machine Learning for Genomics Explorations
A scalable Bayesian framework for joint variable selection in time-to-event models. Applied to the UK Biobank Pharma Proteomics Project, it improves onset prediction by 26–33% relative to penalised Cox and baseline deep-learning approaches.

ThesisPhD thesis, Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). Supervisors: M. R. Robinson, M. Mondelli
Develops two Bayesian inference frameworks based on vector approximate message passing: gVAMP, for joint modeling of millions of genetic variants in genome-wide association studies and polygenic risk prediction, and vampW, for survival analysis of proteomic data with right-censored disease onset times.

Incorporating summary statistics into the VAMP framework
sgVAMP adapts gVAMP to the summary-statistics setting and extends it to a multi-cohort model that jointly estimates shared and population-specific signals across ancestries.
-
WIP
Epigenome-wide association studies using approximate message passing
gVAMPomi applied to the Generation Scotland study finds 92 trait-associated CpG probes conditional on all other probes, against 37 for the baseline MCMC approach.
-
WIP
Detection of age-specific genetic effects for age-at-onset complex traits
An extension of the time-to-event BayesW model to two and three epochs, with Gibbs updates derived for interaction and epoch-specific parameters.
